Women Can Do It All, But Should We? Lessons Learned from A League of Their Own

One of my all-time favorite movies is A League of Their Own, and lately, I’ve started to revisit my old favorites. There is comfort in nostalgia. It’s like putting on your old college hoodie and being flooded with the memories and emotions of a simpler time.

I didn’t anticipate watching and analyzing the movie, but around the same time an ad promoting women entrepreneurs popped up on my social media, and my mind went down a rabbit trail.

The ad was celebrating how women can do it all, and my first thought was, ‘We can, but should we HAVE TO?!’

I’m over this unfair and quite honestly, unrealistic expectation that women can AND should do it all — Perfectly else we will be judged by men and women alike.

Be an entrepreneur? You bet you can! Work 8:30am-5:30pm for someone else? That’s just as good for many, too.
